Often referred to as "art carts," they are versatile in their storage capabilities. They often have 3-tiers, allowing for separation within categories and are portable, so they can be used anywhere in the house. They don't take up much space, so they can be tucked away when not in use. Lastly, they come in many different sizes and colors and most are metal, allowing for additional magnetic storage if necessary.
This product is a game-changer! So many people have a surplus of water bottles or thermos's and no great way to storage them. These are a perfect solution. Instead of searching for water bottles behind each other - you can display them laying down so they are all visible. This makes it easy to grab one and go.
They come in a variety of sizes and stack to fit any space. You can store water bottles 1-5 across horizontally or vertically. They can be used in cabinets, on countertops, in the fridge - anywhere you'd like, and come in different colors if you want to add a splash of color to your space.
These dividers are versatile and can be used to separate anything from kitchen utensils in overcrowded drawers to clothing in dresser drawers. They come in different colors and materials (depending upon the brand) so you can easily match them with your current aesthetic. An added bonus: they're super easy to use! Simply unlock, adjust to the length of the drawer, and lock the divider in place. Tension keeps them from moving, and the foam on both ends prevents scratching. I've personally recommended these to multiple clients, and they love them!
Although labeled as laundry bags, they can also be a great storage option. Most recently we used them to store a client's seasonal pillows. They're inexpensive, come in a variety of sizes, and are made of a lightweight material that allows everything inside to breathe. They have simple, drawstring closures and can be easily labeled so you can quickly identify the contents.
These are a simple, yet versatile pieces of furniture. They come in a variety of sizes and colors so you can customize them to fit any space. I personally have two 4-cube organizers with storage cubes that I use instead of a traditional dresser. They can also serve as nightstands or tv stands with additional storage.
One of the coolest things about them is that they can be used for many stages of life. I've seen them in play rooms, kids' rooms and college apartments. If you purchase them in the 13'' size, they can fit books and binders for school and the thicker sides provide a better quality than most bookshelves.
The storage cubes themselves come in a variety of colors and designs, so there are many ways to mix and match and have this work for your home and space. Kids can also switch these up as their tastes and interests change over time.
Despite the number and variety of cleaners underneath the sink, it's rarely...clean. Cleaners can leak, the sink can leak, and since we're not really under there all that often, we don't often notice. Any of these can cause a serious mess and even more serious damage, and this under sink mat can help. It comes in different designs and in two different sizes. You can trim it down to fit your cabinet using regular scissors, it's absorbent, and washable. Get one for every sink in your home!
I get a manicure every three weeks, global pandemic being the exception. Also, I'm very adamant about removing labels on things I own or supplies I use for my clients. Picking at those labels has destroyed the polish on the middle finger of my right hand over and over again. Devastating? Absolutely not. Annoying? Absolutely. Ironically, the tool that saved my nails is a tool used on my nails - a cuticle pusher! I tried sharper items, like an Xacto, but had to be very, very careful not to scratch the item while trying to remove the label. This didn't always work. Now, I keep a cuticle pusher in my work bag at all times. It's just enough to start the label, so I can peel it off properly - WITHOUT ruining a good manicure!
I've actually done a blog post on Gear Ties because I love them so much, but when I spoke with a client about them recently, I mentioned they were a JAM Recommended Product. So, it's time to include them! I still use them and still love them. They last so much longer than any twist tie, and they're stronger. Plus, they look a bit nicer too - there's no chance the wire will work it's way out of the plastic! Plus, they come in different sizes. I have them everywhere on everything!
Whether you call them turntables or lazy susans, they'll be your best friend in any kitchen area you're trying to organize. Or bathroom, Or linen closet. Or under the sink. Spices, oils, craft supplies - there's no reason you shouldn't have 20. Oh, they're good in the fridge, too!
Zip ties can be used to help organize throughout the house. From corralling cables to hanging brooms and mops, these multiple colors make it fun. Plus, you can color code!
I'm a HUGE fan of Headspace. The meditations are simple, doable, and relaxing. It's great for beginners and those who already have an established practice.
AND if you're currently unemployed, Headspace is offering a FREE 1-year subscription. This is AMAZING. Check it out. Try some of the free meditations, and if you dig it, go for it. You won't regret it.
Anyone have those narrow, wooden pantry shelves? There's like 10.5" between the front and back rails???? It's SO difficult to find organizers to fit this tiny space. I've LOVING these clear can dispensers for drinks and canned food. I wish they had one listing where you could choose how many you want to order, but we can't have everything, can we? Here's a link to purchase one, two, four, or eight.
I'm a light sleeper, and I live in an apartment complex with a neighbor who likes to listen to music and her TV...loudly. Not a good combination. I finally broke down, did some research, and bought the 'LectroFan Classic. I've never slept this soundly in my LIFE. It's that kind of sleep where you wake up feeling as though you've sunk several inches into the mattress and you're a little confused about the entire situation. It has 10 NON-LOOPING fan noises and 10 different white noises to choose from. There's volume control and a timer. It's my new favorite bit of tech, and you'll pry it from my cold, dead hands.
January 2020: Headrest Hooks
I first saw headrest hooks on some blogger's list of things I supposedly needed. I'm so glad! I don't know why I always think the bag of groceries is going to stay upright, because it NEVER happens. Inevitably, something gets away and rolls under the seat. Luckily, I normally find it the same day, but these eliminate all that trouble and worry. They hook around most headrests and can face forward or backward, depending on your needs. $7.99/4 is a small price to pay for that kind of security!
November 2019: Progressive ProKeeper 6 Piece Canister Set
I ask for a lot in a canister, and these ProKeeper's have accessories I didn't even know I wanted. First, I can fit a cup scoop in the flour canister. I'm NOT pouring flour into a measuring cup from a canister; it doesn't end well. The flour canister has a leveler, the confectioner sugar canister has a leveler and a sifter spoon, the sugar canister has a pour spout, and the brown sugar canister has a terra cotta insert to help keep it soft. I'm loving them!
October 2019: Amazon Rechargeable Batteries
Stop the waste! These are great rechargeable batteries at an unbeatable price. Plus, they offer high-capacity versions as well for extra power. Seriously no reason not to own these.
September 2019: Grove Collaborative
I don't really do mail order subscriptions...until I found Grove Collaborative. The selection of cleaning and personal care products is impressive, and so are the prices - equal to or LESS than what I've been spending for the same products at Target. Spend less AND have it delivered directly to your door? Yes please! Plus, you'll get a $35 Mrs. Meyer's Gift set FREE with your first order!
August 2019: Decluttering at the Speed of Life (Book)
Decluttering at the Speed of Life is a great read. In her second book, Dana White outlines her method for decluttering. It's sure to help many of us who are struggling with the emotions our stuff elicits, lack of time, and the interruptions of daily life.
July 2019: Robo-Grip Pliers
Either you have these and love them, or you've never heard of them. Give them a try, and you'll never use pliers or channel locks or adjustable wrenches again. I have these in two sizes, and they're wonderful. They lock down and HOLD without slipping. I wouldn't trade them for anything.
June 2019: Bamboo Makeup Remover Pads
I'm loving these! And yes, they do relate to organization. No need to store several disposable rounds when you have these reusable ones. I've had them for over a month now, and I don't know what took me so long to get them in the first place. They're soft and wash up beautifully, and they come with a small bag so they'll stay together in the washer and dryer (although, I let mine air dry).
May 2019: Two Organizing Books
There is myriad of information available on organizing. Just Google it! For my money and time, these two books can't be beat. They're on my read and reread list. The Complete Idiot's Guide to Organizing Your Life and Organizing From the Inside Out are both good reads with directed how-tos and insights into the psychology behind getting organized and why we have clutter.
I bought these for three reasons: (1) They're pretty, (2) Easier to operate, and (3) They're pretty. They come in sets of two, and we have four. One for my shampoo, one for my conditioner, one for dish soap, and one on reserve. And the labels are just a cute bonus.
BONUS: Pot Cabinet Organizers
A certain before and after picture of a client's pot cabinet has gotten a lot of attention recently. You want to know: where did she get the organizers??? Asked and answered! Here are the links: pot lid organizer, pot organizer, and this pot/pot lid organizer.
Remember the erasable pens from years ago that looked like pencils and just didn't live up to the promise? This is NOT that pen. I love these. I have several, and I keep the refills on hand. They write beautifully and erase well. End of story. I use them in my planner because it changes daily (or hourly), and I just really want to write with a pen! If exposed to high heat, there's a chance the ink will fade, but I've only experience this once, and it didn't stop me from buying more. I always have black on hand and some fun colors just in case.
To go along with our Organizing Tip this month, these Underbed Storage Bins help you take advantage of that extra storage space underneath your bed. They're large enough to hold what you need and small enough to easily move around.
Maybe you don't have a dresser or lack sufficient dresser space. Or maybe it just works for you. Regardless of the reason, you have stacks of bedding, clothing, towels, tablecloths, or whatever on the wire shelves in your closet, and it's not easy to maintain. The problem is the stacks slip. They just do. And who has time to straighten them after every slip?
These shelf dividers will help by providing a barrier between the stacks to prevent slipping. Do you still have to be mindful when grabbing stuff from the middle or bottom of the stack? Yes. Will stacks slide from side to side causing possible closet avalanches? No. There ya go.
Just bought this, and I love it! I had one previously, and it was accidentally donated with a carload of client donations. (Oops!) Bonus: this one is better. It's more sturdy, has more possible configurations, and more pockets. Really tidies up my trunk and makes everything easy to find. Get yours here.
HAVE YOU HEARD OF THIS STUFF? I think I've read something on it before, but after reading this, it's on the wish list!

Write it down and get it off your brain. Write it all down! Get a notebook that (1) you like and (2) you will actually carry with you. Date the page and go to town. Thoughts. Ideas. Goals. Phone messages. To-do lists for the day. Calls to make. Story and blog ideas. Everything goes into the notebook.
I like this one from Amazon. Don't agree? No problem. You find one that speaks to you and start writing!
For just under $15, this organizer will change your kitchen. It's the answer to all your kitchen wrap storage problems. The shelves are adjustable, so you can use it for regular and "family-size" boxes. It's made of ABS plastic and coated wires, so it wipes clean. And it's portable!
Until recently, I didn't "get" purse organizers. My purse is organized just fine, thank you! Then I read about this one, and I had to try it. IT HAS SO MANY POCKETS! While I didn't love it in my floppier purses (the structure of my bag wasn't stiff enough to hold it as intended), I could definitely see what all the fuss was about. If you change purses often, this organizer makes it a SNAP. Or if you have a bag that just lacks in pockets, it's a great addition.
Not-so-secret Secret: I love bookends!!! Suddenly, any flat spot in your home can hold a few books in a stylish way (i.e., better than a stack). I have cookbooks in the kitchen and rows of books on the dressers in the bedroom. Grab yours here.
Color coding your files makes retrieving important information easier. Red for medical, green for financial, blue for family, orange for home, and yellow for other. It's time to organize those files.
I bought this jewelry organizer last month, and I finally moved my jewelry from the small storage boxes under the bed and into the organizer. I can actually see what I own and have been wearing more than just the same pieces.
I've never wanted one of these types of organizers. I found them completely inelegant. But the fact is, I don't have the space to organize my jewelry in a way that allows me to actually see what I own. And if I can't see it, I won't wear it. And then, what's the point? So far, I like it.
